Macaroni Salad "hawaiian style"

Popular side dish that complements any hawaiian dishes.


This Mac Salad is a "Bomb" when made at home, because some restaurant, skimped on ingredients for commercial purposes to save money. So, have fun with it. This recipe is a Must Try! Enjoy!



INGREDIENTS:


8 ounces of Elbow Macaroni (if the bag or box is 1 pound, half of that is 8 oz)

Water

1 to 1 1/2 cup of "BEST FOODS brand" Mayonaise If you live on the West Coast, or "HELLMANN brand" if you live on the East side of the Rockies in the USA

3 tbs of finely chopped onions

3 tbs of finely chopped carrots

1 can of 5 oz tuna (drained)

salt and pepper to taste


1. Boil water in a deep pot, add a drop of "cooking oil" to keep the pasta from sticking together while cooking.

2. Add the Elbow macaroni in the boiling water.

3. Boil for about 10 to 12 minutes so, it is "al dente" , (just follow the cooking instruction on the box or package.)

4. When pasta is cooked, drain in a collander with running cold water to stop the cooking process.

5. After all the excess water is drained, place in a big bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about 20 to 30 minutes.

6. In a bowl, smash the drained tuna to tiny pieces, add the onion, carrots and mayonaise and Mix and seasoned with Salt and Pepper.

7. Finally add this to the bowl of chilled pasta, and gently toss until creamy, add more mayonaise if you want it even creamier.

8. Bammmm! Eat with your favorite meat, chicken or fish dish! Enjoy!
